General Motors has confirmed its agreement with KOENIGSEGG for the sale of 100% of Saab Automobile AB. The details of the transaction will be materialized by the year 2009, but the brief announcement today, which follows that of ‘prior agreement of June, Saab finally puts to protect from possible closure, carrying out short by the subsidiary.

The Swedish government will be involved to secure the necessary funds from the European Bank of Investment and is counting on many models now ready to debut as a 9-3X, 9-5 and 9-4X. These cars will continue to share technology with the GM group, which will have a specified time and that will be decided at a later time.

The Group CEO Christian von KOENIGSEGG KOENIGSEGG stated that his intention is to bring Saab successes of the past, celebrating the essence as style, attention to safety and the environment, innovation in design and driving pleasure.
